Two analysts.
One shared passion for creative problem solving.
ORRO grew out of a friendship that predates the company by more than a decade — and, in different ways, out of two lifelong relationships with sports that predate the friendship.
Jessica Pearson and Liz Goldstein met in business school and spent years collaborating on research — first out of genuine curiosity, then with growing conviction that organizations were systematically underusing the data sitting right in front of them.
ORRO exists to close that gap. We combine rigorous statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI to turn messy, disconnected data into organizational decisions — starting with sports, where both founders' analytical instincts were shaped long before either of them had a name for what they were doing.
Jessica Pearson, MBA — CEO
Jessica is a strategic thinker with exceptional skills in translating complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for decision makers. She brings deep experience in workplace strategy, change management, and client facilitation — and a rare ability to bridge the world of data science and organizational leadership. Jessica holds an MBA and additional credentials in architecture (AIA) and change management (CCMP).
Her connection to sports data goes back further than her career does. In 1990, as team manager for her high school's boys' basketball and baseball teams, Jessica recorded every game's stats by hand, reviewed them with the coaches, and called the results in to the local newspaper — well before there was an internet to do it for her.
Speaking engagements include DataConnect 2024, DataConnect 2025, INFORMS Business Analytics Conference 2024, and LINHAC 2026.
Liz Goldstein, MBA — CTO
Liz is an agile problem solver with a strong analytical mind and deep expertise in AI, Python, and natural language processing. She designs and builds the technical pipelines that make ORRO's work possible — from statistical modeling and language model development to synthetic data creation and prompt engineering.
Her interest in sports analytics started well before ORRO did. In 2015, Liz built an independent project merging high school football recruits' star ratings with demographic data, comparing outcomes for 3-, 4-, and 5-star recruits across different backgrounds — an early version of the same instinct that now drives ORRO's organizational research: that the most interesting insight is usually the one hiding in the intersection of two datasets that were never built to talk to each other.
Recent research includes work on multi-horizon career longevity prediction for NHL skaters.
Recent research includes work on temporal expression recognition in criminal trial transcripts and epistemic function classification in text. Speaking engagements include DataConnect 2024, DataConnect 2025, INFORMS Business Analytics Conference 2024, and LINHAC 2026.
ORRO's founders bring over 10 years of combined experience in analytics, AI, and organizational research. Our work has been presented at leading data and analytics conferences, and our research has been published in peer-reviewed academic workshops.
